Jones Freecarver 6000S

Pure carving with maximum grip

The Jones Freecarver 6000S 26/27 is a dedicated carving board built for short, fast turns. The sidecut sits around six metres, and together with full camber and a long contact length it gives a grip that holds through the whole turn. The core has bamboo stringers down the centre for torsional stiffness and pop, reinforced with carbon and flax stringers from Bcomp. High Traction Tech gives three grip points per steel edge, the middle one the largest, which helps when the morning groomers are hard. In the nose and tail sits Jones 3D Contour, a spoon bevel in the base that lets the board change from edge to edge faster.

Choosing a size

The Freecarver comes in narrow and regular widths. Jones recommends the 150N for boot sizes up to US 8, the 154N and 158N up to US 9, and the regular width for bigger boots. A narrower board gives faster edge changes, which is the whole point of a carving board, so go narrow if your boots allow.
